Belfast Firewalk

A night like no other
70 people walked on fire, raising money for NI Chest Heart & Stroke

Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke provides expert care and support to anyone at risk of or currently living with chest, heart and stroke conditions. They also fund local ground-breaking research into better treatments, care and prevention.

Working with people across the province, they've been delivering our services since 1946, carrying out extensive research into how to prevent these conditions, alongside ‘on the ground’ support.

As a charity, almost 90% of their income comes from public donations.

About Belfast Firewalk

Belfast Firewalk was created by Jennie Wallace. After suffering a devasting stroke in 2023 Jennie lost the use of her left leg & arm. With support from NICHS Jennie learned to walk again, and in May 2024 she walked on fire along with 70 other mad people!

FAQs

Is It Safe?

1000s of people walk across hot coals every year, that said, Firewalking does carry an inherent risk.  To ensure the safest, most enjoyable experience for you it is essential that you are present for the duration of the Firewalk preparation and follow instructions from the team on the day.

Who Is In Charge?

Our Firewalk will be facilitated by Lottie Moore from the Wild Soul Tribe .

Lottie is a Firewalk Instructor Trainer who has been leading people across hot coals for many years, as well as now training other instructors since 2018 – her fine-tuned procedures, and impeccable professional record means you’ll be in very safe hands.

Can Anyone Take Part?

You need to be over 16 to take part in this Charity Firewalk – anyone between the ages of 16-18 will need a waiver signed by an adult with parental responsibility prior to taking part.

No preparation or previous experience is needed to be able to take part in the Firewalk as the team will be delivering everything that is needed to assist you to cross the coals on the day.

To be able to Firewalk safely you need to be able to walk at a steady, even pace.  That said, Lottie from Wild Soul has supported people with disabilities from vision loss to prosthetic legs across the coals, so if you would like to take part but have concerns about a pre-existing disability do reach out to have a chat.

Do I Have Attend The Training?

Yes. Lottie will be delivering a fun-packed evening that will allow you to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’ enabling you to begin to recognise limiting beliefs in all areas of your life, and step through what holds you back.

You will not be permitted to walk the fire if you have not taken part in the pre-walk activities.

Can I Donate Without Taking Part?

Yes you can donate online here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/jennie-wallace or bring cash to the event where volunteers will be collecting

Can I Bring A Friend?

Spectators are welcome for the event, but will not be permitted within the Firewalking Area for the duration of the Firewalk preparation or Firewalk itself – if you’re in any doubt if you’ll want to take part in the firewalk you’re best to register…. You might surprise yourself!

Spectators felt to be disrupting any of the firewalkers in any way will be asked to wait inside while the walk takes place.
